This school was founded in 1993 by two men, Stephen Shank and Dr. Harold Abel, who noticed that the most underserved and neglected demographic when it came to higher education was America’s adult population. That’s why Capella College allows life experience credit to count towards many degrees, and it is catered towards those who already have knowledge of their field, but who want to improve themselves in some way. The student body is composed of about 20,000 individuals coming from 56 different countries, so there is always diversity both on and off campus at Capella.
Capella College understands that many adult learners would love to attend class, but simply don’t have the time between personal and professional obligations.
